Soon after Ben Roethlisberger announced his departure from the Pittsburgh Steelers - the one team he’s known for all 18 seasons - I found myself inspired to mark the occasion. Truly, Ben has been the one quarterback I’ve watched and rooted for since I began watching football in 2006. His impact on me and my life is almost without comparison - at least as far as professional athletes go. I felt I had to do something.

Over the last few weeks, I embarked on the process of critiquing most every one of Big Ben’s 454 career touchdowns, regular and postseason. To say this was an undertaking unlike any other is an understatement. I greatly appreciate the patience of the team at YinzerCrazy, especially Mike Nicastro and Jordan York for allowing me to pursue this project. With that said, this project amounted to a mini-vacation for me, as I was able to sit back and watch nothing but great play after great play and evaluate them by a set of criteria I created on my own.

What you will find in this Part One of a four part series are some of the signature moments Ben Roethlisberger authored in the course of the 18 seasons he dedicated to Pittsburgh.
