In case you haven’t heard, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed inside linebacker Patrick Queen. Queen, 24, recently played for a division rival, the Baltimore Ravens. In 2023, Queen played in 16 games for the Ravens. In those 16 games, Queen registered 84 tackles (T-14th), 3.5 sacks (T-130th), 1 FF, and 1 INT.

Queen is labeled as an off-ball defender, which is why you can see his sacks not being as high. During his career, his best season regarding sacks came in 2022, when Queen tallied up 5.0 sacks. Outside of the sacks category, Queen is used to stopping big-time running backs behind the line of scrimmage on blitz packages, and when in coverage, he typically is stuck on running backs and tight ends. For reference, look back to 2022 when Najee Harris had the game-winning TD catch with Patrick Queen draped all over him. Throughout his first four seasons in the NFL, Queen has steadily progressed after each season. Queen is labeled as one of the top inside linebackers due to his versatility and aggressiveness.

Omar Khan was rumored to be in talks this early morning about bringing in a “top-tier” guy and he did just that. The contact details are not fully finalized yet since the deals will start to become official late Wednesday afternoon, but, as of right now, the contract is 3 years, 41M. The Steelers have finally found a true replacement at the linebacker position since the unfortunate injury to Ryan Shazier. Even though it took way too long to find their replacement, the Steelers can move forward knowing that the linebacker spot is in good hands with Patrick Queen.
