There's some more hardware on the way to the Steel City.
Tonight, Steelers' Linebacker TJ Watt won the Defensive Player of the Year Award at the NFL Honors. It's long overdue for arguably the best player in all of football. This past season, Watt become the only other player besides Reggie White to record 13 sacks or more in a season, four consecutive seasons. He tied Michael Strahan's single season sack record of 22.5 - and he did it in just 15 games. If that is not impressive enough, Watt averaged 1.5 sacks per game, and if he had not missed any games this season, would have be on pace for 27 sacks, which would have shattered the NFL record.
And to throw another stat at you, Watt is now the leader on the Steelers all-time sacks list, ahead of James Harrison and Jason Gildon. Not bad company.
