Maybe George Pickens was right; the Browns aren't good at all. They are on pace to have their worst record since 2019 when Freddie Kitchens was head coach, and the Browns fell to the #1 AFC North team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. In a balanced game full of offensive, defensive, and even special teams plays, the Steelers get their 10th win of the season and remain at the top in the division and number three in the AFC! But who guided the team to a divisional dub? Let's go over them!
Honorable Mentions:
Najee Harris - 16 carries, 53 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD
Pat Freiermuth - 3 rec, 48 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD
DeShon Elliot - 13 tackles, 1 pass defense
#3: Cameron Heyward - 5 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 TFL, 2 QB Hits
How can a guy get better as he gets older? As Steeler fans pray Heyward gets a ring before he decides to hang up the cleats, he still finds a way to destroy QBs. Now, at eight sacks on the year (15th overall, 2nd for DTs overall), can Heyward keep the defense on its toes over the middle of the field while Highsmith and Watt cover the outside as the playoffs approach? Cam can!
#2: Russell Wilson - 15/26, 158 passing yards, 2 passing TDs, 6 carries, 17 rushing yards
Say whatever you will regarding the decision to bench Justin Fields; Mike Tomlin deserves to be in the conversation for coach of the year for that move. Tomlin realized the offense could be moving better and decided to put his chips down in a move that could make or destroy the O. And Tomlin would nail the jackpot! Wilson has been balling these past few weeks, and it seems the two years in Denver were just a bad dream. The pressure was handled A LOT better than in week twelve, from 3 sacks, 2 QB hits, 13 hurries, and 18 pressures in week twelve to 1 sack, 3 QB hits, 8 hurries, and 12 pressures in week fourteen. See what happens when you let Russ cook?
#1: Alex Highsmith - 3 tackles, 1 sack, 2 TFL, 2 QB hits
Highsmith is back with a vengeance! Everyone was missing the duo of Watt and Highsmith unless you're a quarterback. A sack, two QB hits, and many hurries on Mr. Winston! This season, the Steelers are undefeated when the former Tar Heel takes the field. Can he keep the momentum going into Philly?
The gauntlet begins next week as the Steelers play four teams who have played in the AFC/NFC Championship in the past three years. Philadelphia is the first stop as the Steelers face their former combined team from 1943. When was the last time the Steelers beat Philly in the city of brotherly love? 1965. Buckle up, Steeler Nation; it's gonna be a hell of a ride!
