Our Yinzer Crazy family got a little bigger today as we were pumped to welcome in Former Pitt Quarterback Bill Stull
to the Podcast.
Bill grew up in the "Burbs of the Burgh" - moving to the Steel City in middle-school after spending his early years growing up in Ohio.
He was a star quarterback at Seton La Salle High School - becoming the first player in WPIAL history to reach 3,000 yards passing in a single season in 2004.
He then decided to attend Pitt to pursue his dream of playing for his hometown squad.
Stull sat down with YC to talk about why he felt it was important for him to play college football for the city he grew up in - and the pressure that came with that position.
I think ultimately that decision turned out to be a good one.
In 2009, Stull led the Panthers to a 10 win season - their first since Dan Marino secured that double-digit landmark in 1981.
They haven’t won 10 games since.
Take a listen to the podcast to find out how Stull enjoyed playing under the tutelage of Head Coach Dave Wannstedt - another Pittsburgh man through and through.
He also discussed his playing career at Pitt, the impact of the on-going pandemic on college football currently, and his thoughts on Kenny Pickett and the #21 ranked Pitt Panthers.
What does life after football look like for Bill Stull?
You’ll have to listen to find out.
But I don’t think you’d be surprised to hear that Football is still a big part of his life.
