Could there be a three-headed monster at running back brewing in the 412? There's been a ton of talk surrounding former Pitt wide receiver Jordan Addison and the Steelers - but what about breakout running back Izzy Abanikanda?
Abanikanda told our Jordan York at the NFL Combine that he'd love to play for the Steelers:

Last season, Izzy led all of college football in total touchdowns (21) and rushing touchdowns (20). He also averaged 130 rushing yards on the ground per game, good for 7th in the nation. We can't leave out the fact that he had arguably the greatest ACC performance EVER by a running back last year - scampering for 320 yards and SIX touchdowns against Virginia Tech. He broke Tony Dorsett’s single-game rushing record for a Pitt running back. Dorsett rushed for 303 yards against Notre Dame in 1975.
Given the fact that Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren proved to be a very capable duo last season, it's unlikely Izzy ends up wearing black and gold in the Steel City. However, many recent teams have used the three back formula in effort to keep their ball carriers as fresh as Febreze during the stretch run. Take the Philadelphia Eagles for example. Last season they utilized Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell, AND Boston Scott, on their way to becoming the best ground attack in the NFL.
Another Pitt product staying in the Burgh' would certainly make for a fun story. And at the end of the day, it may be Izzy, instead of Addison, after all.
