If you're familiar with the college football landscape in Western Pennsylvania, you've probably heard of D2 powers from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), such as Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Slippery Rock, Cal-U, and more.
Now it's time to meet Joey Fisher, the nationally recognized star offensive lineman, who kicked all their assess.
Fisher played college football at Shepherd University, a small school in the PSAC with roughly 3,000 total enrollments, located naturally in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Last season, Fisher started every game at right tackle, earned D2 All American First-Team honors , and recently participated in NFL Draft showcases, The Hula Bowl, NFL PA Collegiate Bowl, and the Senior Bowl, becoming the first player in Shepherd program history to receive an invite to all three. Not too shabby for a "small-school" kid, eh?
From 2019-2022, Joey helped Shepherd become a national power, as the Rams went 19-2 during his tenure. Now, he's trying to become a National Football League power offensive-lineman, as he takes his aim at the NFL Draft.
Joey joined us on "The Sick Podcast - Steelers Crazy," to break down his college career and path to the draft:
