Steelers' Rookie Oladipo Attempting Rare Feat

What if we told you there is a new member of the Pittsburgh Steelers who has never played a single regulation snap of college football?

You would think we were literally crazy.

Well, meet Gabe Oladipo.

Over the past few years, Oladipo was one of the most impressive Track & Field athletes in the country. He starred at Texas Tech, breaking school records in the Hammer Throw, Discus, and Shot Put. Yeah, that's a strong freaking dude.

That strength was on FULL display at the Texas Tech Pro Day, as this time Oladipo took the field as a football player, instead of a track star.

Oladipo, a defensive tackle who said he always had football in his blood, threw up 29 bench press reps, and ran a 4.97 40 yard dash -- good for 7th fastest among all draft eligible defensive tackles. He actually said he was disappointed in that time.

He was granted an extra year of eligibility and joined the Red Raiders football team last fall, and now he finds himself in Steelers rookie mini-camp.
