Usually, a win against the Ravens makes for a good day for Steelers fans, but this week doesn't feel all that great.
The Steelers may be coming off a win and are sitting atop the AFC North at 3-2, tied with the Ravens, but there is no confidence in this lackluster offense. The Steelers are relying far too heavily on their defense, as they have been for the past few years, and this formula is not how you make it in the playoffs, if they even get there.
If you look at the stats from Sunday, one might think it was one of those rainy or snowy Sundays that needed a ground game to be successful, but it was far from that. Kenny Pickett just barely crested 200 yards through the air, but Lamar Jackson's 236 passing yards weren't much better compared to Pickett's 224. Najee Harris looked irrelevant, with 17 carries and only 37 yards to show for it. Jaylen Warren is looking more like the RB1 with his nine carries for 40 yards. What was more impressive from Warren was his three receptions for 39 yards, really helping on crucial 3rd downs.
George Pickens was the only star on either offense, being the only receiver to boast over 100 yards with a touchdown. The entire receiving corps of the Steelers sans Pickens didn't get over 100 yards. Calvin Austin could have had some impact on this game but unfortunately, he spent most of it on the sideline in concussion protocol. Even though Darnell Washington didn't catch the two targets he saw I was astonished that's all he got thrown his way. It wasn't that I thought Connor Heyward wasn't decent, but his four targets and 23 yards wasn't anything impressive. Regardless, when your second-best receiver on the team is your RB2, something just isn't right.
If you didn't see the viral video of Matt Canada's reaction (or lack thereof) after the game winning touchdown pass to Pickens here it is:
I'm convinced Matt Canada is betting against the Steelers. Or he owes someone money. What kind of reaction is this to a game winning td???? pic.twitter.com/LIdyY1IPAv

I have been somewhat giving Canada the benefit of the doubt. I didn't want to throw every problem the Steelers have right now on his shoulders but after seeing this, I am done with him. I think Canada wants out, and if he doesn't, he sure as hell isn't showing that he's even remotely happy to be here. He needs to go, I don't care what anyone has to say anymore, he is a poison to this organization and the fact that he can't even be happy that Pickett can get the job done on his own is telling enough of his character.
Aside from that, there isn't much to write home about. No one other than the defense and Pickens made a big impact on this game. If anything, a win may have just prolonged Canada's time here and that might be the worst outcome of all. One good thing can be said though about Pickett, if he did call that game winning play, then that confirms that this offense is being hindered by Canada and his play calling. To quote the infamous Beastie Boys I would even go as far to say to Canada " So while you sit back and wonder why I got this f**king thorn in my side oh my God, it's a mirage I'm tellin' y'all, it's a sabotage".
It might be a stretch, but Canada could be going as far as sabotaging this season. What his motives are, I couldn't tell you, but if Pickett can go rogue for one play and turn it into a scoring drive, then something smells really fishy, and I ain't talking about the Ohio river.
