In Week 13 of last season, Montravius Adams went from the New Orleans Saints practice squad, to the Pittsburgh Steelers' defensive tackle rotation. After struggling throughout the year to find a run-clogging nose-tackle following the injury to Tyson Alualu, Kevin Colbert signed Adams off the street -- and he immediately became a key contributor down the stretch, starting 4 of the Steelers last 6 contests.
He's only 26 years old, and today, the Steelers resigned him to a 2-year deal worth up to 5 million, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Adams, a former 3rd round pick of the Packers from Auburn, will get a chance to once again compete for a starting job on the black and gold's defensive line. A job he took last season, and never gave back.
